Mobile Studios

Driving innovation in AI manufacturing.

This project combines technology and mobility to bring AI to all corners of Georgia. Led by the Russell Innovation Center for Entrepreneurs (RICE), in close partnership with the University of Georgia, KITTLABS, and Technologists of Color, this project developed the Georgia AIM Mobile Studio equipped with accessible AI and advanced technology suitable for all ages and abilities. The mobile studio is designed to connect with new audiences, particularly residents in communities underserved and underrepresented in technology and manufacturing, and provides opportunities for exploring ideas, careers, and entrepreneurship in this growing sector.

To empower entrepreneurs, the Georgia AIM Mobile Studio connects with current RICE programs to provide training and resources to new and small businesses. The Georgia AIM Mobile Studio expands RICE’s reach across Georgia, connecting with new entrepreneurs and programs to help them incubate and implement their ideas. The technology vignettes offered on the mobile studio offer access and training to manufacturing 4.0 technologies that are otherwise unaffordable and often inaccessible to underrepresented groups, especially in rural Georgia.

The Georgia AIM Mobile Studio offers new opportunities to Georgians to join the advanced manufacturing workforce and to start, lead, and grow a manufacturing businesses. The goal of the mobile studio is to serve 1,200 people each year.

In addition to the Georgia AIM Mobile Studio, Georgia AIM’s Middle Georgia Innovation project supports two mobile labs at Fort Valley State University. The Fort Valley Mobile STEM Lab and the Mobile Precision Agriculture Lab conduct community outreach and training throughout Middle Georgia and provide education to K-12 students and local manufacturers.
