Underserved Entrepreneurship Activation

Driving equity and innovation in AI manufacturing.

The Underserved Entrepreneurship Activation project works to expose new audiences, particularly in rural and Black communities, to AI manufacturing, allowing for the exploration of ideas, careers, and entrepreneurship in a growing, high-demand sector. The Russell Innovation Center for Entrepreneurs (RICE), in close partnership with the University of Georgia, KITTLABS, and Technologists of Color, is engaging its network to develop and deploy the LaunchPad AI Innovation Mobile Studio.

To empower entrepreneurs, a Georgia AIM mobile entrepreneurship and AI manufacturing curriculum that syncs with current RICE programs will provide training and resources that are otherwise unaffordable and often inaccessible to underrepresented groups, especially in rural GA. Further innovation will be driven by pairing participants with programs that help them incubate and implement their ideas; holding pitch competitions for users to reach investors; and matching companies seeking to hire with new talent experienced in AI manufacturing processes. Through these initiatives, new opportunities will be provided for Georgians to join the Georgia AIM workforce and to start, lead, and grow a manufacturing businesses, with a goal of serving 1,200 people annually.
