Middle Georgia Innovation

Leveraging regional national AI robotics innovation to infuse AI manufacturers.

Middle Georgia is home to more than 18,000 manufacturing and agricultural businesses. The Robins Air Force Base alone generates an economic impact of $5.4B to Middle Georgia. Still, the region endures endemic economic hardship due to an over-reliance on the defense sector coupled with population decline. That hardship challenge was only exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic, which led to decreased demand for some products and supply chain disruptions in others.

The Middle Georgia Innovation Infusion Project is inverting this trend by leveraging the regional national AI robotics innovation leadership of Robins AFB to infuse AI manufacturers, increasing economic prosperity and resilience. Through AI manufacturing mobile learning programs deployed throughout rural counties, retention of local talent, and the creation of high-paying jobs, key regional industries are being engaged and connected with the talent pipeline available in Middle Georgia.
