Middle Georgia Innovation Infusion

Leveraging national robotics innovations to infuse AI across the region

Middle Georgia is home to more than 18,000 manufacturing and agricultural businesses. Robins Air Force Base alone generates an economic impact of $5.4B to Middle Georgia. Still, the region endures endemic economic hardship due to an over-reliance on the defense sector coupled with population decline.

The Middle Georgia Innovation Infusion is inverting this trend by leveraging the national AI robotics innovation leadership of Robins AFB to infuse AI manufacturers, increasing economic prosperity and resilience. This project works with several partners to take a multi-prong approach that delivers:

competitive robotics programs to K-12 students through multiple counties and school districts
enhanced training through the Georgia VECTR Center’s AI-Enhanced Robotic Manufacturing Studio
mobile labs serving rural and underserved communities at Fort Valley State University
