Delivering AI-Enhanced Robotics Training in Middle Georgia

This story was originally published by the Middle Georgia Innovation Corridor.

As Middle Georgia’s manufacturing sector expands, a valuable talent pipeline is taking shape at the Georgia VECTR Center in Warner Robins.

Here, veterans are building on their military experience through Central Georgia Technical College’s AI Enhanced Robotic Manufacturing program, learning the latest in robotics, automation, and artificial intelligence. The program and tech-focused lab equipment were supported by Georgia AIM.

For local manufacturers and regional partners, it’s a direct connection to job-ready talent who understand both teamwork and technology.

Credentials that Land Jobs

It takes just 17 credit hours for students to earn Technical Certificate of Credit and industry-recognized FANUC (Fuji Automatic Numerical Control) certifications. Training is hands-on: programming industrial robots, troubleshooting smart systems, and applying AI and machine vision to real manufacturing challenges.

For established manufacturers ready to modernize or advanced companies aiming to stay ahead, hiring veterans from VECTR’s program makes sense. Graduates not only come with technical skills learned through the program, they also carry the discipline, adaptability, and leadership gained from their military service.

These are essential soft skills that every employer looks for in top employees.

“Veterans come into our program ready to learn and eager to contribute,” said instructor Deryk Stoops. “They leave with expertise in robotics, automation, and AI – skills that help manufacturers be nimble and innovate.”

The program has so far graduated 51 students.

Making the Connection

Manufacturing is evolving quickly, and Middle Georgia is well-positioned to lead in preparing a workforce to meet new challenges. Programs like VECTR’s AI-Enhanced Robotic Manufacturing certificate ensure the region has the talent to match its ambitions.
